My favorite book

Today in class we choose the theme of the blog, and the winner is: Your favorite book.
My selection is: Salón de Belleza.
It's a novel, a short novel more specifically. It was written by Mario Bellatín,  a peruvian- mexican writer, published for the first time in 1994.
The story tells the process of transformation of a beauty salon into a place where sick people arrive for waiting their death, similarly to a hospice, but without medication. As a result, or part of the transformation, the owner of the salon also suffers a transformation, because of the sick.
I don't have a favorite book, but, into my latest readings, I like this in a special way. The story and the situation have a melancholy taste, its a place where Thanatos and Vanitas has been present. The place and story have a very important object, a fish tank; for this reason i like this book, the fishtanks are a metaphor of the beauty salon and its transformation.
I got to know about this book when I was in third year of university, then, I was into a course of latin american literature by Eugenia Brito, teacher of my academic department and a chilean writer. But I read it just three weeks ago, with a group of friends and unknown persons, we call it "The reading sect"; one time at month one of the members chooses a book, and then we meet and talk about it and other stuff, whit some alcohol included.
